Your verge

Your verge refers to the piece of land between your front fence and the road kerb.  This land is part of the road reserve and contains council assets such as footpaths, street trees, storm water drainage and crossovers (driveways).   

 

Crossovers - Driveways

All crossovers are to be approved by Council. Builders and building owners are required to submit plans and specifications to Council for approval. For more detailed information please refer to the Council information leaflet on Crossovers.

The term 'STANDARD CROSSING" for the purpose of Regulation 15 of the Local Government (Uniform Local Provision) Regulations 1996 shall mean a crossing 2.8 metres wide constructed of premixed insitu concrete.

 

Landscaping of Street Verge

Any resident wishing to develop a street verge with anything other than lawn is required to make an application in writing to:

Registration of Street Lawns

Residents wishing to register their verge lawn are required to make written application for approval to:

Upon approval "Registered Lawn" signs are available at the Council offices for $18.50 per sign.


Removal of Street Trees

It is prohibited to remove street trees without the prior approval of the Council. Residents must contact the Technical Services Department on (08) 9384 1633 or use the Contact Us form and we'll attend to your query.

Reticulation within Street Verges

Residents wishing to install reticulation on the street verge are required to submit a plan outlining the position of sprinklers for approval to Council.
