Council organises six (6) verge collections during each financial year, two bulk rubbish which consists of prunings, junk and whitegoods and four prunings only collections. Dates for the verge collections are highlighted on the recycling calendar. In addition residents will be advised by letter box drop and notices on council notice boards prior to each verge collection.

24 August 2009 - Prunings only
26 October 2009 - Prunings, junk, white goods and e-waste
14 December 2009 - Prunings only
15 February 2010 - Prunings only

The council will remove prunings (tree and shrub), general household junk and whitegoods. Click here to view more detailed information.
Garden refuse, tree cuttings, building materials and any rubbish not in an MGB (mobile garbage bin) should not be stored on the road verge out of specified collection periods. A litter infringement may be issued to those found in contravention of this Local Law.
By providing up to 12 months notice of the verge collection dates residents are able to maximise their utilization of this service, Which in turn enables council to maximise the diversion of recyclable material away from landfill and into reuse options.
As part of Council's commitment to waste minimisation and recycling, all tree and shrub prunings collected via the verge collections are shredded and recycled as mulch. Please do not contaminate your prunings with plastic, paper or metal.
Bags and boxes of leaves and/or lawn clippings are not compatible with the mulching process and therefore cannot be accepted as "prunings".
