The Town of Mosman Park Environmental Health Department can assist you with the following topics:
Both the Health Act and the Environmental Protection Act are designed to protect the public from nuisances and pollution that may adversely affect their health. The Manager Environmental Health Services will investigate complaints of health nuisance or air, noise or water borne pollution.
Noise emission is to comply with the "assigned outdoor noise levels" as prescribed by the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations. The assigned outdoor noise levels vary across the Town, reduced for the evening and are significantly lower for night periods.
As a guide the maximum permitted noise level is 65dB(a) during daytime (7am to 7pm). In all cases noise emission is not permitted to cause annoyance/nuisance to any other person utilising the Town's Parks and Reserves or adjacent residents.
NOTE: Authorised Officers of the Council and Police Officers have the authority to require any person to cease the emission of unreasonable noise. Where there is a continuing annoyance/nuisance such officers may seize any equipment (includes vehicles) contributing to the emission of unreasonable noise.
Specific enquiries in regard to noise emission should be directed to Council's Environmental Health Officers.

Regular inspections are carried out on all food premises in the district. New premises are required to be designed and constructed in accordance with Health (food hygiene) Regulations and Council Local-Laws.
Food Sampling
A wide range of raw and cooked food products are sampled on a regular basis and analysed for compliance with Health (food standards) Regulations.
All itinerant food vendors are required to be licenced annually, with vehicles inspected.
Residents can assist by using a fly proof compost bin for food scraps or by wrapping their food wastes before placing in rubbish receptacles.
Mosquitoes will breed wherever stagnant water is allowed to lay or be stored. Residents are asked to check their yard and remove or relocate any items so as to prevent mosquitoes breeding.
Rodent control is an ongoing issue and residents can do their bit by minimising the availability of food, water and harbourage on their property. Rat bait is available from Council's Administration Centre.
