Dividing Fences

The Department of Housing and Works is responsible for dividing fence issues and answers more than 600 telephone calls each month. The booklet “Dividing Fences – Rights and Responsibilities” is the Department’s response to the need for clarification regarding this matter. In clear and simple language, it explains the rights and responsibilities of property owners and occupiers under the Dividing Fences Act 1961.
