Heart Foundation Walking

It only takes a little activity to gain some big health benefits. By finding 30 minutes a day you can:

Walking programs provide the motivation to participate in 30 minutes of moderate intensity physical activity with the added benefits of socializing with people in your community and enjoying the beautiful surroundings and facilities.

The Town of Mosman Park and Shire of Peppermint Grove have partnered with the Heart Foundation to bring you Heart Foundation Walking, a nation wide initiative aimed at providing free, safe, social and accessible opportunities to become physically active in your local community. Pull out your sneakers and join in one of the many walking groups that are currently operating in your local community.

Brisk walk with some hills.
Other:

Nordic (Pole) Walking
Walkers please contact Heather Thorne prior to attending for the first time.

Meeting Point:
Royal Freshwater Bay Yatch car park.
Duration:
Approximately 45 minutes.
Level:
Walking on the sand. Suitable for all fitness levels. Uses Nordic Walking Poles to provide a workout for upper body as well as the legs. Good for cardiovascular fitness. Try something new!
Other:
No dogs please.
 
Nordic Walking Poles and instruction provided.
 
Walks will be followed by coffee at John Street Café.

Approximately 50 minutes.
Level:
Aimed at regular walkers who want to take it to the next level. Interval walking for fitness and weight loss.

Walk Organisers 

The volunteer Walk Organisers are the heroes of this programme. Council is seeking registrations from persons interested in supporting Heart Foundation Walking as a Walk Organiser. Al volunteers are insured by the Heart Foundation and will participate in a short training session prior to commencing their role. Download a Walk Organiser registration form here.
